Service Description: Document Content: You are working as an analyst at the Assessor’s Office of Monroe County, Illinois. The town of Valmeyer has been entirely relocated to a new site to avoid flood risk from the Mississippi River. You need to update GIS data for both old and new properties, digitize roads, and add attributes that will assist in analysis for state emergency response. As a final step, you must share this data on a public web map. Main Tasks: Update the New Properties Layer: Elevation and Slope Data: Using a Raster Elevation Model (DEM), add the following attributes for each property: min_elev, max_elev, mean_elev, and min_slope, max_slope, mean_slope. This is done using the Zonal Statistics tool. Distance to Old Town: Use the Euclidean Distance tool to calculate the distance from the location of old Valmeyer. Set the maximum distance to 5000 meters and the cell size to 10 meters. Set the Snap Raster and Extent environment settings to match the DEM. Add the result to a field named move_dist. Road Digitization: Sketch approximate roads by following the gaps between new properties. Adjust Snapping settings to snap only to other roads (Classic Snapping). No attribute data is required. Web Map Creation: Layers: Old properties (single color), New properties (symbolized by average elevation), Digitized roads. Labels: Add labels for “Old Valmeyer” and “New Valmeyer”. Share the map publicly using ArcGIS Online.
