Description:

This map illustrates the fire hazard severity zones in the California counties (Mariposa, Mono, Toulumne, Madera) encompassing the Yosemite Valley and the Yosemite National Park. Fire Severity is based on a weighted overlay analysis of Population Density (PD), Per Capita Income (PCI), Median Age (MA) from the 2018 U.S. Census overlaid with Fire Threat Index (FT) values provided by CALFIRE. Weights used: FT (2); PCI (1.5), PD (.5), MA (1).
