This hospital point layer provides location information for mapping hospital facilities licensed by California Department of Public Health, Licensing and Certification. The dataset is a subset of the OSHPD Healthcare Facility dataset to include only facilities with a License_Type_Desc of 'hospital' and with a status of 'open' located in San Diego County and environs. The data snapshot was taken from OSHPD's ALIRTS system as of March, 2021. Facility address information is maintained and provided by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). The accuracy of the latitude/longitude geocodes are adequate for administrative planning purposes only. The data, on a case-by-case basis, may not be appropriate for driving directions, routing, emergency services, or other critical uses of the data.SanGIS downloaded the dataset from https://data.chhs.ca.gov/dataset/licensed-healthcare-facility-listingin csv format. Records within the County of San Diego and adjacent counties were selected and mapped using the latitude and longitude coordinates included with the dataset. The dataset was then projected to NAD_1983_StatePlane_California_VI_FIPS_0406_Feet. Only facilities with a license type description of 'hospital' that have a status of 'open' and that are located within a 25 mile radius of the County of San Diego were selected, with the exception of Imperial County, where vicinities within a 40 mile radius of The County of San Diego were included (as all facilities were beyond the 25 mile radius).
