Service Description: This hosted address points service was created to provide easy, high-performance access to the latest version of Covington County Mississippi address points. This service is not intended for download unless Covington County E911 Office is contacted. For downloads, please contact the Covington County E-911 Office via the County website. The data set was created to support Mississippi's future Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) system, along with the current needs of Covington County's Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) using their current Enhanced 9-1-1 (E9-1-1) system. The address points will also help support statewide geocoding and other address-related GIS functions. The address points in this service represent physical site addresses. The actual mailing address may vary from the physical address.

Description: The address service contains address points for Covington County, Mississippi.
Covington County E9-1-1 Office has built a NG9-1-1 database meeting and exceeding the requirements of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) 2018 NG9-1-1 GIS Data Standard (NENA-STA-006.1-2018) as well as the addressing standards put forth by the Mississippi Coordinating Council for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (MCCRSGIC).
The initial address points were processed from a Mississippi Electric Company's Utility data in 2019, and the address points were field verified through the coordinated efforts of Mississippi 811, Inc. and Covington County E9-1-1 offices. Additional datasets that were used were supplied by Covington County Tax Assessor's Office and Covington County E9-1-1. All data was incorporated into the county address point layer using customized Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) procedures.
Address points corrections and additions are ongoing and are updated in a timely manner.
