Description: <span style="font-size:11.0pt; line-height:107%; font-family:&quot;Calibri&quot;,sans-serif;">The Alaska Center for Conservation Science worked with the Matanuska-Susitna Salmon Habitat Partnership from 2022- 2023 to complete an assessment of off-highway vehicle stream crossings in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley core area.  Goals of this project were to create a user-friendly database of previously identified off-highway vehicle (OHV) crossings across the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, and to provide data for each crossing that can assist in identifying priority crossings for future permitting and rehabilitation efforts.  </span><div><span style="text-align:justify; font-family:Calibri, sans-serif; font-size:11pt;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="text-align:justify; font-family:Calibri, sans-serif; font-size:11pt;">The following resources</span><span style="text-align:justify; font-family:Calibri, sans-serif; font-size:11pt;"> were used to create a compilation of known OHV crossings for the Mat-Su region, ADF&amp;G permitted crossings were included in the final feature class.</span><span style="text-align:justify; font-family:Calibri, sans-serif; font-size:11pt;">  </span><span style="text-align:justify; font-family:Calibri, sans-serif; font-size:11pt;">Our OHV crossing point file was created from existing data from three main sources:</span></div><div><span style="text-align:justify; font-family:Calibri, sans-serif; font-size:11pt;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="text-align:justify;"><div style><font face="Calibri, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.6667px;">Jeffrey C Davis and David Ryland (2002) technical report for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game which covers and the upper Susitna Valley, starting north of Willow Creek and moving north and west to include both sides of the Susitna River drainage north to the Troublesome Creek drainage and west to the base of the Alaska Range near the Cache Creek drainage and Peters Creek Mining District.  Source ‘Davis’ in attribute table.  </span></font></div><div style><font face="Calibri, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.6667px;"><br /></span></font></div><div style><font face="Calibri, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.6667px;">Palmer Soil and Water Conservation District provided geospatial data for multiple projects across the Mat-Su Valley that documented OHV crossings including restoration opportunities.  Source Riparian Impact Evaluation of Priority Streams in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough  </span></font></div><div style><font face="Calibri, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.6667px;"><br /></span></font></div><div style><font face="Calibri, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.6667px;">State of Alaska, Department of Fish and Game general permit locations were sourced from on-line copies of fish habitat permits, a feature class was created from the location latitude and longitude in decimal degrees (WGS84).  Note general permits reviewed as part of this project all expired Dec. 31, 2022.  It is advised that the next round of two-year ADF&amp;G fish habitat crossing permits be compared against our data to find any recent additions or deletions.  </span></font></div><div style="font-family:Calibri, sans-serif; font-size:11pt;"><br /></div></span></div>
