Name: Lakes with Public Access / Boat Launch - older calcium data (pre 2000)

Display Field: gnis_name

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPoint

Description: The modeled vulnerability scores were calculated using multiple data sources including: existing occurrence and survey locations for elodea and non-native northern pike, waterbody access via boat launches or road proximity, floatplane use, sport fishing effort, and human population density. These data have been incorporated as attributes into a statewide dataset of lakes and ponds sourced from the United States Geological Survey's National Hydrographic Dataset, NHD (n= 978,886 waterbodies). The attributes are scored as factors of overall lake vulnerability as well as individual vulnerability to invasive northern pike and elodea infestation.

Copyright Text: Data compiled and scored by the University of Alaska's Alaska Center for Conservation Science (ACCS) via a grant from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game's (ADF&G) Invasive Species Program. Data sourced from ADF&G, ACCS, Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Matanuska-Susitna Borough, US Geological Survey, University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the US Census Bureau.
